Two Little Dancers
Before we moved to Idaho we had never really heard of clogging. Well, I'm sure I had probably heard of it but wasn't at all familiar with it. Then we attended the Cherry Festival here in our new town and discovered that in our area clogging is the CRAZE. If you're like I was and don't know much about clogging, it can be described as "power tap". It is so much fun to watch! After watching the Gem Cloggers perform for 4 straight days at the Cherry Festival, our girls were hooked. For the next two months their feet tippety-tapped to their own tunes until they started taking lessons that started up in the Fall. They have loved being involved in clogging and were able to perform a few different times this year. Last week was their Spring Recital, which is a big to-do around here. The community really supports this activity and the auditorium was packed. The girls each got to perform a few different numbers and they both did great. Their next performance will be at the Cherry Festival and they are so excited to get to dance at the place they first fell in love with it..JPG)

I'm probably one of the few who are actually quite familiar with clogging! My best friend in fourth grade was Candy Leatherman and her entire family clogged. In fact, her older brother Tim was a state champion! I used to go with her family to all their practices and performances around town and at the fair. I always loved it, but never started doing it. I don't think my parents would let me. Don't know why! I'm glad the girls are enjoying it so much! Its a fun dance!
That looks like so much fun! Do they get nervous performing?
Amanda seems to get nervous and embarrassed but Lauren doesn't. Isn't that weird? You would think it's the other way around, huh? The girls have actually changed a lot. Lauren is a lot less shy now and Amanda is a little more so.
Yeah, that is weird. It's the exact same with Eden and Bree, though. I have to pry Eden off me to go to preschool, she can't stand giving a talk or saying the prayer in primary, and gets way shy to do anything publicly. Bree is more reserved by nature, but when it comes to that kind of thing, she gets excited to perform. Who would have guessed?
It's crazy how much Lauren and Bree are alike. I wish they could spend time together.
